BACKGROUND AND INTRODUCTION

The Community Media Center (CMC) is a non-profit, nongovernmental, independent organization founded in January 2007 in Gaza, for the purpose of shedding the light on various community-related issues using the various means and tools of media. CMC seeks to sensitize mainstream media outlets and social media networks in favor of the most vulnerable and marginalized groups in the community.

CMC was founded by a group of civic activists to bridge the gap among mainstream media, decision makers and citizens that often result in keeping the voices and stories of the most vulnerable groups unheard and untold. CMC seeks to raise the awareness and develop the capacity of younger generation to equip them with the knowledge and skills to know their rights and defend them and report on various human rights violations in their community using means of media to influence lasting positive social change.

CMC is implementing " Stop violence against women” project, in partnership with and funded by UNTF. The project aims to contribute in combating violence against woman through media and consists of three phases.

Under this solicitation, CMC seeks a qualified External Monitoring Experts/firms who will be responsible for the full Monitoring process of this project and its results.
