DVV International in Palestine, is seeking for an independent individual who will be responsible for conducting need assessment research for our partner in AsSamou’ youth cultural centre and to assess the local community at AsSamou’ through Participatory Rapid Appraisal (PRA) method within the “Stories of Palestine” project.

Introduction

DVV International in Palestine, is seeking for an independent individual who will be responsible for conducting need assessment research for our partner in AsSamou’ youth cultural centre and to assess the local community at AsSamou’ through Participatory Rapid Appraisal (PRA) method within the “Stories of Palestine” project.

“Stories of Palestine” will last for three years (November 1, 2020- October 31, 2023), funded by the European Union (EU) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The project aims to enhance civil society engagement in preserving, reinforcing and promoting the Palestinian culture through strengthening the contribution of eight adult education centers in Gaza and West Bank in fostering cultural education and action.

The essence of the project depends on taking advantage of the large intersection areas between the fields of culture and education. In order to involve Palestinian civil society institutions in the depth of cultural and artistic work, and to provide them with the necessary tools to build cultural education methodologies to improve living conditions and achieve steps towards achieving a local development in which the core values are justice and freedom.

Purpose of Services 

DVV international is considering the selection of a professional and qualified researcher/ expert, who will be responsible for conducting a study to assess the needs of AsSamou’ youth cultural centre in terms of its capacity to lead different programs and activities in its local community, and to assess the needs of the local community in AsSamou’ to decide which cultural, social and economic areas need to be intervened.  

Expected Tasks and Deliverables:

1. To conduct need assessment research for AsSamou’ youth cultural center using PRA method.
2. To conduct need assessment research for AsSamou’ local community using PRA method. 
3. To conduct interviews with both local community members and the center management’s staff. 
4. To deliver a report including all results concluded.

Duration

The duration of the work will be two months (February and March 2022).

Qualification and experiences required

• Applicant should have a wide knowledge of the Palestinian cultural scene. 
• Applicant should have a wide knowledge of organizational social work in Palestine. 
• Applicant should have an experience in conducting researches by PRA method.    

Fees and Payment Arrangements 

Payments shall be made on the basis of delivery and acceptance of agreed outputs by the Client. This payment shall be made in one installment:

The fee will be 3889 IL Only including income Tax.

A 10% income tax will be deducted by DVV International in accordance with the applicable Palestinian Laws. No other taxes, social security contributions or other insurance premiums shall be paid by the Client. The Contracted Organisation shall be responsible for the timely payment of the taxes payable on the fee.
