Diakonia was established in 1966. Today Diakonia considers itself part of global network of
people, organisations and churches working towards a world where people can live their life
in peace and dignity.
The base and board of Diakonia are five Swedish protestant churches. Together with members of the congregations, in particular the numerous Diakonia representatives active in the churches, Diakonia works in Sweden with popular education, mobilisation, campaigning, advocacy and fundraising.

Our Regional Office for the Middle East is situated in Jerusalem; we work in Palestine, Egypt, Lebanon and Iraq.

Responsibilities:
Main Responsibilities:
1-Be a part of the process and development of the IHL Programme
2-Conduct research for our legal papers, website and other publications.
3-Conduct field research when required.
4-Make presentations and briefings of conducted research.
5-Keep track of recent research conducted on relevant topics to IHL/IHRL and latest contextual
developments in the area.
6-Develop and update the IHL programme reference library.
7-Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
1-At least 5 years relevant work experience.
2-Knowledge about the regional context in Israel and Palestine.
3-Experience from working with research.
4-Fluent in English with proven ability of writing skills
5-Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
6-Knowledge of or previous experience from working with IHL is an asset.
7-Arabic/Hebrew language is an asset.
8-Knowledge of or previous experience of civil society is an asset.
9-Experience in web site management is an asset.
10-Good computer skills.
