MA’AN Development Center is an independent Palestinian development and training institution established in January, 1989, working with Palestinian NGOs, Community Based organizations, committees and grassroots groups in the poorest and most marginalized areas to improve the quality of their lives and empower them to take a lead in developing their communities and achieving self reliance, steadfastness and sustainable development.

POSITION TITLE:Researcher For Advocacy report SZoP

Project name:  Schools as Zones of Peace
Project goal: Enhanced resilience and protection of children and schools for the most vulnerable and conflict affected communities in the OPt, West Bank.
Project Duration: 4 MONTHS
 
Tasks and responsibilities:

-Conduct Focus groups in the targeted schools with teachers, parents and children
-Conduct Individual interviews with teachers and students in extreme case study examples, pertinent staff of MoEHE and members of the MRM group
-Observation in sample schools
-Literature review and Collection of secondary data from Save the Children, EAPPI and UNICEF

Directly reporting to: Project Manger and Program Director of MA’AN

Qualifications:
-MA Degree in relevant field
-Previous research experience (Samples will be requested)
-Proven knowledge in education during times of conflict
-Knowledge of MRM and the education cluster
-Experience in researching and writing advocacy reports for international audiences
-Knowledge the unique situation faced in the oPt with special focus on the issues faced in area C.
-Legal knowledge and applicability of a legal framework in this context
-Excellent research skills in both English and Arabic
-Ability to work as part of a team and under pressure
-Immediate availability
