Resource Mobilization/Communications Officer - Al-Eizariya

The Four Homes of Mercy of the Arab Orthodox Invalids Home Charitable Society located In Al-Eizariya, Palestine wishes to recruit a highly professional Resource Mobilization/Communications Officer on a part-time basis to be based at their offices in Al-Eizariya with access to their office in Jerusalem.

The Four Homes of Mercyof the Arab Orthodox Invalids Home Charitable Society is a non-profit organization, which seeks, through the provision of specialized services, to meet the needs of people of complex neurological disabilities resulting from damage to the brain or nervous system.

Believing that all people with disabilities should have the opportunity to enjoy an optimal quality of life, it also works with other individuals and organizations to improve professional knowledge and skills and to raise awareness of disability issues.

 

• Develop a resource mobilization and a communications plan for the Four Homes of Mercy.
• Ensure the visibility of The Four Homes through maintaining/updating the website, brochures, Facebook, and other media outlets.
• Compile list of current donors, and potential donors along with relevant information about their priorities, and submission requirements.
• Draft thank you letters in English to be sent promptly.

Identify relevant funding opportunities and develop proposals accordingly in coordination...with. The Executive Committee of the Board of Directors and the Management.

• Prepare reports in Arabic and English to donors and other stakeholders including government, line Ministries among others as needed.
• Create content for press releases, articles, and keynote presentations/PowerPoint presentations.
• Prepare success stories for online publishing, reporting, and advocacy purposes.
• Identify relevant funding opportunities and develop proposals accordingly in coordination with the ExecutiveCommittee of the Board of Directors and the Management.
• Review and vet submitted proposals providing guidance to the board members and technical staff about the recalibration of their respective: log-frame, budget, monitoring and evaluation and visibility plans before submission to donors—and ascertaining their alignment of donor requirements and expectations
• Networking with other key service providers, and stakeholders including line ministries, Universities, other NGOs providing similar services among others, with the aim of creating venues to exchange experiences, enhancing quality of services, and raising awareness on services provided at the Homes.
• Plan media campaigns targeting the community especially the youth to engage in voluntary innovative and creative recreational activities for the residents of the Homes.
• Support the Management of the Homes in the Public Relations function through organizing public events, meetings, conferences, media, etc.).

Qualifications & Experience:

• ABachelor’s Degree incommunication, journalism, international relations, social sciences,or any other relevant fields.
• A minimum of two relevant experience in communication and/or advocacy.
• Proven experience in writing advocacy documents and in the production of communication materials, including social media, and products.
• A good understanding of the Palestinian and donors’
• Fluency in spoken and written English and Arabic languages.

• Show a good level of caring for others, especially people with disabilities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills complemented by the ability to conceptualize ideas and advocate consensus.
• Have Public Relations skills and capacity to re-establish community and international donor
• Enthusiastic and shows creativity.
• Ability to work with a team.
• Have excellent computer skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure to achieve multiple deadlines
• Ability to “think out of the box” and to make innovative proposals to extend communication reach.

            Experience supporting disability institutions

             Experience in organizing advocacy campaigns.
