Provision of Training and Guide/toolkit development for:
“Capacity Building for Academic Excellence” Project
Mercy Corps is an international, nonprofit, relief and development organization serving more than 19 million people in 46 countries.
Palestinian Community Assistance Program (PCAP) is fully funded by USAID, Mercy Corps offers a program in economic development and workforce preparation. Within its focus on the ICT sector, Mercy Corps in partnership with Palestinian Information Technology Association of Companies “PITA” are working to provide ICT Academics and Trainers ToT to develop their skills and attitudes regarding active learning techniques and integration of soft skills in teaching and learning. Academics and Trainers will become more creative and proactive in their teaching and lecturing approaches and able to shift from classical teaching/lecturing methodology into student-centered learning methodology.
Mercy Corps seeks the services of competent individual consultant or team of consultants who can develop and deliver a training that will be implemented to develop ICT academics’ and trainers’ skills and attitudes regarding active learning techniques and integration of soft skills in teaching and learning, for at least 20 ICT academics and trainers from Palestinian universities, colleges and training centers divided into two groups. After the completion of the training, the consultant shall develop a guide/toolkit.
Service Provider/Consultant’s Minimum Qualifications:
This RFP is open to individual consultants or teams of consultants, with following qualifications:-
1-Master degree or higher in business, education/pedagogy, management, ICT, or related fields;
2-At least 5 years of relevant working experience including experience in conducting ToT, soft skills training for young people and developing training materials.
3-Experience in participatory and interactive training approaches;
4-Skills in developing analytical and informative materials;
5-Ability to work in a team;
6-Excellent communications skills;
7-Initiative and resourcefulness;
8-Excellent computer skills;
The following qualifications would be an asset:
1-Have an academic experience.
2-Experience in ICT besides experience in ToT.
Timeframe:
The expected timeframe: [1st April, 2014 – 5th July, 2014].
RFP: can be picked up at Mercy Corps Gaza Office, 2nd Floor, Abu Ghalioun Building during normal working hours; on Thursday 6 March 2014. And please note that the normal working hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Sunday to Thursday.
Deadline for collecting the RFP on Thursday, 13 March 2014 at 2:00 pm
Pre-bid meeting: will be held in Mercy Corps office on Thursday, 13 March 2014 at 2:00 pm.
Submission: 3 COPIES IN ADDITION to THE ORIGINAL PROPOSAL SHOULD BE SUBMITTED. All documents along with the ToR should be submitted in a sealed envelope provided by Mercy Corps, addressed to:

The Sealed Offer must bear the name of the offering contractor and be delivered to Mercy Corps’ Gaza Office; and must be delivered before 2:00 PM on Thursday 20 March, 2014.
