Work Experience Workshops, Gaza Strip
PCAP seeks a local training provider (individuals or firms) to deliver three series of workshops which give those young Gazans the best opportunity to learn from their work experience, and translate their experience into future income. A total of 35 workshop-days will be delivered to three targeted groups; Interns, Recent Graduates, and Freelancers.
Background
Mercy Corps is a nonprofit international relief and development organization, serving more than 19 million people in 46 countries. Mercy Corps has had a presence in Gaza and the West Bank since the 1980s, helping Palestinians to meet their immediate survival needs, and to find durable solutions to chronic problems. With offices in Ramallah, East Jerusalem and Gaza City; Mercy Corps implements programs throughout the Palestinian Territories.
As part of its PCAP program, funded by USAID, Mercy Corps is implementing a program of Economic Development and Workforce Preparation. PCAP works in several economic sectors which are experiencing growth, including ICT, construction, and plastics manufacturing and recycling. Additionally, recognizing the importance of youth employment, PCAP works to help young people prepare for employment and self-employment.
Objectives
The main objective of this activity is to provide transferable skills to fresh graduates and equip them with a capacity to learn from their work experience placement, and translate their experience into future income. The transferable skills will be delivered in a series of workshops as outlined below:
I-Pre-Placement Workshop #1 will cover these topics:
-CV & Cover letter writing
-Job Interview skills
II-During-Placement Workshops #2 will cover these topics:
-Leadership & Team Working Skills
-Interpersonal and Communication Skills
III-During-Placement Workshops #3 will cover these topics:
-Career development and search for future opportunities.
-Understanding work environment
Timeframe:
The expected timeframe to deliver the 35 workshops: [March 2014– May 2014].
RFP: can be picked up at Mercy Corps Gaza Office, 2nd Floor, Abu Ghalioun Building during normal working hours; on Thursday, March 06, 2014. And please note that the normal working hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Sunday to Thursday. Deadline for collecting the RFP on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 12:00 Pm.
Pre-bid meeting: will be held in Mercy Corps office on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 12:00 PM.
Submission: All documents along with the RFP should be submitted in a sealed envelope provided by Mercy Corps, addressed to:

The Sealed Offer must bear the name of the offering contractor and be delivered to Mercy Corps’ Gaza Office; and must be delivered before 2:00 PM on Sunday March 18, 2014.
