The Role
The Safeguarding officer will help to deliver Oxfam’s strategy and programme to protect those we work with from sexual exploitation and abuse. He/she will support management in coordinating the implementation of Oxfam’s safeguarding policies and procedures at country-level with a focus on Gaza response

What we are looking for
We are looking for someone who has:
- Undergraduate degree (Bachelor) in social sciences and humanities including but not limited to development studies, law, sociology, international relations will be required to have a minimum of 4 years relevant experience in Safeguarding / PSEA / Protection, gender, GBV or related fields.
- Experience of working with children and adults who have witnessed or experienced exploitation and abuse
- Experience in delivering trainings and/or awareness raising messages.
- Strong understanding to the OPT context and ways of working.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders and influence using a variety of different styles, considering cultural differences
- Commitment to follow procedures, take guidance and instruction from Regional Safeguarding Advisor
- Able to work professionally and with a high degree of confidentiality always.
- Excellent written and spoken Arabic and English
- An understanding of sexual harassment, exploitation and (child) abuse risk factors (such as gender and power inequalities
- Commitment to upholding and modelling Oxfam’s values, demonstrating integrity, diplomacy, professionalism, reliability, and resilience always.
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent self-awareness and understanding of the need for self-care.
Desirable
- Experience in working with Local NGOs.
- Experience in sensitive data ethics and management.

The employee will be contracted by Oxfam with a competitive, fair and comprehensive pay and benefits package that is justifiable to our donors. The salary offered will be subject to funding available and competences.
