Sales, Marketing, and Portfolio Development Specialist

AMIDEAST, an international non-profit organization in the West Bank and Gaza, is seeking
qualified candidates for the following position. AMIDEAST is seeking qualified applicants for a Sales, Marketing, and Portfolio Development (SMPD) Specialist for a full-time (between 30-40 hours per week) position
based in Ramallah to begin November 15, 2009 or sooner.
The SMPD Specialist will promote and expand testing and training programs in the West
Bank. Promoting testing programs will be the primary activity for the SMPD Specialist.
Working with the Testing Supervisor, the SMPD Specialist will provide marketing and
sales plans and take responsibility for meeting annual growth targets, informing potential
clients about testing products that help improve international competitiveness. Working
with the English Language and Training Coordinator, the SMPD Specialist will promote
English Language and Professional Skills Training programs, with a focus on a holistic
approach that involves tailoring appropriate training solutions to testing/assessment results.
The Specialist will assist the training and testing units in defining and meeting annual
performance objectives.
The salary for this position is: Base Hourly Rate + Commission.

Qualified applicants will meet the following criteria:
-Education: A university degree equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree or higher in business and/ or marketing or relevant equivalent.
-Experience: At least two years in a similar portfolio development position, such as sales or marketing, developing and managing client accounts in the West Bank.
- Languages: Advanced English and fluent Arabic.
-Knowledge: Extensive contacts in the Ramallah, Nablus, Hebron, and/or East Jerusalem
business, NGO, government, and aid communities, particularly in the field of education and training. Knowledge of the existing needs of the market in terms of skills training and testing assessment. Knowledge of the Palestinian and American educational systems.
- IT Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including excel, power point, and
outlook.

Other requirements:
Based at AMIDEAST’s El-Bireh/Ramallah office, the SMPD Specialist will be required to travel in the West Bank and East Jerusalem regularly in order to fulfill his/her primary performance goals and job requirements. Own transportation/vehicle strongly preferred but not required.
