REQUIRED Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree in related subject area (biology, chemistry, geology, physical science)
• Fluent English (classes and materials are fully in English)
• Demonstrated ability to problem solve and work independently
• Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Receptive to constructive criticism and feedback
• Possess a strong work ethic; show a desire to continually improve/adopt new practices and take pride in your work
• Able to remain cheerful and show patience and understanding towards children, even in stressful situations
• Flexible and adaptable
• Enthusiastic about science and working with children
• Able to arrive at school before 7:15am each day and leave no earlier than 3:00pm

Preferred Qualifications:

• Graduate degree in related area (Masters or higher).
• Familiar with the Next Generation Science Standards.
• 1-2 years of prior teaching experience in a science subject
• Experience with lesson planning and/or developing classroom materials
• Experience using digital education tools (ex: Google Classroom, Edpuzzle, Coggle)
• Familiar with a student-centered learning approach
