TVET and Labor Market Programme
To support the Program Team at the Program House for Development Cooperation in Al-Bireh, we are looking for a “Swiss Development Agency (SDC)ProgrammeCoordinator”, full time
for the implementation of programme activities of developing regional Vocational Centers (Centers of Competence) funded by the Swiss Contribution “Promotion of Youth Employability in oPT” as integral part of the TVET and
Labour Market Programme.
Responsibilities and tasks include but are not limited to:
-support the team leader and the programme advisor, SDC programme coordinator performs technical tasks, coordinating activities, carrying out specific tasks in connection with knowledge management and concrete research and generally supports the programme advisor in other programme related tasks in conception, management and implementation of program activities mainly in the following areas:
-preparation and holding of a promotion campaign, design of PR material and media analysis
-puts together an overview of programme activities, deadlines etc. and presents this regularly at team meetings
-supports project monitoring and updates information on project progress, documents and reports
regularly on the status of results
-assists in planning, coordinating and documenting meetings, workshops, seminars and other project activities with a focus on technical aspects
-assists in organizing short-term expert missions assigned to programmeand in completing their tasks
-Preparation of agreements with participating TVET institutions of the selected projects and support
to its implementation
-assistance in all matters of procurement of equipment and services according to the project-support documents
-follow up the implementation of the partnership with the private sector to be in line with the agreed
upon action plan for each project
-Identification of projects outputs to be disseminated after evaluation and/or mainstreamed
-organization of dissemination events
-support to the MoEHE and MOL for development of TVET policy with the possible support of
Technical Assistance
-In the context of these sub-components, responsibilities to include:
-planning, design and development of new or follow-on activities;
-ensuring efficient and timely delivery of ongoing project milestones;
-coordination with technical teams of partner institutions;
-management of third party contractors;
-regular reporting and documentation of project progress and impact
-Advising partner institutions in addition to assisting in the preparation of technical reports
-Support of the programme advisor in monitoring, evaluation and reporting and as translator
-performs other duties and tasks at the request of management
Required qualifications:
-University degree in the fields of Economics, Business, Business Administration or another relevant field;
-At least 5 years of professional experience in working in the Palestinian TVET sector or a private sector association or with international organizations in the fields of TVET sector development.
-Excellent project management skills and experiences
-Fluency in English and Arabic (oral and written), knowledge of German would be an asset;
-Ability to work within interdisciplinary teams;
-Excellent interpersonal and intercultural communication skills;
-Computer literacy.
Assignment:Starting June, 2012.
