International Medical Corps is working to relieve the suffering of those impacted by war, natural disaster and disease by delivering vital health care services that focus on training, helping devastated populations return to self-reliance.

The USAID Gaza 2020: Health Matters project is designed to improve emergency preparedness and response (EPR), and to improve access and availability of quality primary and secondary health care by building the capacity of NGOs and community-based organizations (CBO) in Gaza and the West Bank. International Medical Corps (IMC) and its partners, Cooperative for Assistance and Relief Everywhere, Inc. (CARE), Juzoor for Health and Social Development (Juzoor), and Mercy Corps, (the Consortium) bring together various components necessary to create a holistic system that is gender sensitive and responsive to crisis and to the needs of residents of Gaza and West Bank, including vulnerable populations.

International Medical corps is currently looking for Secondary Health Care Officer:

Scope of Work:

Implement quality programming related to secondary health care services in coordination with all concerned parties to improve service delivery and capacity of health care workers.
Provide technical support for sub-awardees to empower them to use available resources efficiently to assure quality of health services.

Work with sub-awardees on effective clinic / facility administration, including: developing and implementing staffing and procurement plans and ensuring hospital procedures and protocols (e.g. infection prevention and control) are in place.
Technical Review for the grant applications submitted by sub-awardees as part of technical review committee.

Preparation of the specifications of the instruments and Equipment needed for the health care as per their procurement plan in coordination with the relevant staff in order to ensure proper installation and use by the health staff.

Working with the Emergency Response Specialist in developing emergency response plans for Hospitals to ensure effective preparedness to manage emergency situation.

Support Identification of gaps among health care providers and facilitate interventions to address relevant gaps in coordination with all concerned parties.
Regular reporting on all activities under IR3.

Qualifications and Skills :

An advanced degree in medicine with Masters in Public Health/Health Management/Health Policy and Planning or relevant health degree
At least 1 years of hospital working experience with familiarity and understanding of secondary health care services in Gaza Strip especially at the NGOs and CBOs level.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Arabic
Excellent computer skills
