International Medical Corps is currently recruiting staff to be based in Gaza, for a US Agency for International Development funded project. Gaza 2020: Health Matters is a five-year intervention designed to improve the resilience of the health sector in Gaza by increasing access to and quality of emergency and essential health services provided by NGOs, CBOs, and private providers.

JOB SUMMARY
The Secondary Health Care Officers will provide technical advice and supervision of the sub-awards program to NGO and CBOs who provide secondary health care services in order to improve and strengthen capacities of hospital services in Gaza Strip.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
-Implement quality programming related to secondary health care services in coordination with all concerned parties to improve service delivery and capacity of health care workers.
-Provide technical support for sub-awardees to empower them to use available resources efficiently to assure quality of health services.
-Work with sub-awardees on effective clinic / facility administration, including: developing and implementing staffing and procurement plans and ensuring hospital procedures and protocols (e.g. infection prevention and control) are in place.
-Technical Review for the grant applications submitted by sub-awardees
-Preparation of the specifications of the instruments and Equipment needed for the health care facilities in coordination with the relevant staff in order to ensure proper installation and use by the health staff.
-Working with the Emergency Response Specialist in developing emergency response plans for Hospitals to ensure effective preparedness to manage emergency situation.
-Support Identification of gaps among health care providers and facilitate interventions to address relevant gaps in coordination with all concerned parties .
-Regular reporting on all activities under IR 2 and /OR IR3 .
QUALIFICATIONS:
-An advanced degree in medicine with Masters in Public Health/Health Management/Health Policy and Planning or relevant health degree
-At least 5 years of hospital working experience with familiarity and understanding of secondary health care services in Gaza Strip especially at the NGOs and CBOs level.
-Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Arabic
-Excellent computer skills
