Security Officer

Job Title: Security Officer

End Date :  July 25th 2012

Scope of Work:

-Undertake security assessments of IMC field sites
-Manage movement and transport plans and protocols
-Ensure communication protocols are embedded and utilized
-Responsible for programme contingency plans and security plans
-Monitor the security environment in Gaza and assess risk to IMC staff
-Manage team of drivers and ensure transport schedules are up to date
-Assist all IMC employees crossing international borders
-Provide security briefings to IMC staff and provide training on security related areas
-Be on call to respond to security incidences related to IMC staff, premises, or assets.
-Complete incident report forms for Country Director review for any and all security incidences as defined in IMC Global Security Manual.
-Complete weekly security report for area covered under the programmes
-Undertake regular site visits to assess security risks
-Undertake coordination during emergencies and crises.
-Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

-Weekly security report

Minimum Qualifications:

-Bachelor degree
-One year of experience working in the security sector preferably in an NGO
-Good English
-First Aid training
-Good driver

Skills:
-Experience of working with drivers
-Self-starter and confident
-Experience of using VHF radios and sat phones
-Flexibility and high motivation to learn

Other Comments:

IMC is looking for a security officer to join a new programme. The Security officer will be responsible for ensuring the safety of IMC staff in the field. The IMC programme works in and around the access restricted areas and so we are looking for someone with a strong knowledge of the area and security aware. The security officer must have strong communication skills and be extremely responsive to changing situations.
