Senior Accountant

Mercy Corps,an International non-governmental elief and development agency,is curently expanding activities in the Gaza strip.Mercy Corps is seeking a candidate for the following position for our office in Gaza
Duration :12 months with possibility of extension
Main Responsibilities :
Manage general accounting,cash management,petty cash and other routine accounting matters.
Ensure that all accounting transactions are recorded properly and promptly,and maintain day-to-day bookkeeping entries.
Prepare monthly cash projections,maintain and upkeep all project accounting records,files and documents in a systemic manner.
Ensure that all procurement forms and documents are in compliance with Mercy Corps and donor requirements.
Coordinate with all Mercy Corps Gaza employees on procurement issues,and ensure that all are well-versed in procurement procedures.
Carry out other related tasks as requested by Finance Manager,Assist with administrative and financial management
Requirements:
BS University degree in accounting or similar field,3-5 years of relevant experience in positions with a comparable level of responsibility.
Strong knowledge of accounting systems,Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Windows and Office software ,Word processiong and spreadsheet programs
Proficiency English and Arabic ,both written and spoken.
Excellent attention to details,Ability to work simultaneously on multiple tasks ,independently and as part of a team.
