Senior Accountant

Wattan is an award-winning, independent, professional media organization based in Ramallah, Palestine. It was established in 1996 by three civil society organizations. Job description

Responsibilities

Carry out financial department policy validated from the board of directors;
Apply orders and instructions issued by financial manager;
Keep accounting records according to companys and tax laws;
Data entry of institutions daily accounting information;
Prepare institutions annual budget , and projects budgets
Responsible for maintaining financial security by following internal controls;
Verify financial transactions, and follow up of accounts receivables and accounts payable, and reporting them to financial manager;
Follow up institutions bank accounts, performing monthly reconciliation;
Review institution s expenditures documents and ensure departments compliance with the set budget;
Prepare financial monthly, quarterly and annually reports including financial statements and fund allocation reports and reporting them to financial manager;
Perform and control all employees financial balances concerning salaries, benefits;
Review purchase orders and requests for payments;
Preparation of checks and salaries bank transfers for the approval of general manager;
Interact with internal and external auditors and donor representatives and provide information and access to accounting records as required.

Qualifications and Experience
A university degree in accounting, finance or any other related field.
3 to 5 years of experience in the accounting and finance field.
Knowledge of international financial standards, policies, and regulations.
