Senior Accountant
Job Description
Job Summary :
Provide accounting support and technical expertise to the Finance department. Perform daily and monthly reconciliations of accounting balances, analyze discrepancies, and propose solutions. Prepare various management reports. Carefully analyze and prepare for resolution premiums deemed uncollectible and/or coordinate write off requests through headquarters office in Ramallah.
Essential Job Functions
1-Daily reconciliation of cash balances and systems reports (agency and direct bill).
2-Identification, analysis and correction of out of balance conditions or errors arising from cash reconciliations.
3-Preparation of monthly general ledger entries for agents balances and related accounts.
4-Preparation of various reports for Agency Accounting. i.e. overdue balances, ages items, unapplied cash.
5-Preparation of the semi-annual aged item report for Ramallah headquarters.
6-Take action to ensure appropriate resolution of premiums deemed uncollectible. This may require direct collection, assignment to a collection agency, preparation of write off for Home Office Ramallah.
7-Preparation and distribution of monthly management reports.
8-Coordinate with Finance- department on accounting related matters.
9-Provide expertise and technical assistance on accounting matters.
10-Comply with proper internal controls as necessary to conduct job functions and/or carry out responsibilities and/or administrative activities at Company.
Other Functions:
Perform other duties as assigned by Management
Special projects as assigned by management
Regular and reliable attendance.
Qualifications For Position:
-Fluent in English and Arabic
-BS, Accounting/Finance from accredited university (MBA a plus)
-Minimum of 7 years of progressively more complex and accountable experience
-Analytical and detail-oriented
-Must have 4 years of insurance accounting experience
-Full cycle accounting experience
-Proficient in all Microsoft Office products.
-Expert in excel
-Experience and knowledge in general ledger accounting software and Enterprise Resource Planning application

-High level of integrity and dependability with a stronger sense of urgency and results-orientation
-Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and with staff at remote locations
-Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and maintain an “open door” policy with General Manager and Head of Corporate Development
