Senior Communications Officer
A PROJECT DESCRIPTION
A prospective non-profit organization is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual for the full time position of Senior Communications Officer.
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES
Working closely with the Program Director, Team Leads and Operations Team, the Communications Officer will be assigned to assist in developing various communications, knowledge, and public relations materials as required by the organization. The work may entail research, writing, editing, and designing materials for the project. The Officer will report to the Program Director. This is a long-term position based in Ramallah.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop internal project communication protocol;
- Assist senior program staff to enhance communication standards and protocol between partners;
- Plan public outreach and awareness activities with the pilot projects;
- Work with senior program staff, beneficiaries and the donor’s Communications staff to capture success stories;
- Plan, research, draft, and/or edit documentation, official reports, press releases, and other materials. Coordinate with the project team and partners to produce and release timely, accurate, and useful written material for the public, stakeholders and media.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 7 years of experience as a media, communications, and public relations professional;
- Experience working as Media, Communications or Public Relations Specialist for USG, EU, and/or DFID -funded projects;
- Experience complying with donor’s branding and marketing standards;
- Advanced English proficiency;
- BA in Public Relations or Journalism.
