Senior Field Coordinator

The International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC) is an international non-governmental, development and relief organisation, working worldwide to alleviate suffering and need and sharing God’s gifts of food, shelter, economic self sufficiency and hope.
With funding from USAID, through Mercy Corps’s Palestinian Community Assistance program (PCAP), IOCC will be implementing a project in Gaza entitled: From Relief to Recovery: Improving Food Security for Vulnerable Families in Gaza. The project will aim at improving food security at household level through the provision of agricultural inputs, technical assistance and job opportunities. IOCC seeks a Senior Field Coordinator to work in IOCC Office in Gaza Strip. Job Summary: The Senior Field Coordinator works under the direction of the IOCC Program Director and IOCC Program Officer in the operational implementation, supervision, and monitoring of IOCC project in the Gaza Strip. The position includes field operations management, staff supervision responsibilities, productive cooperation with local partners, and adherence to IOCC and donor policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
-Work closely with the IOCC Program Officer and Program Director in the implementation of IOCC assistance activities in the Gaza Strip.
-Conduct regular field visits and monitoring of activities, following up with field staff and beneficiaries.
-Ensure productive cooperation with local partners and beneficiaries to ensure adherence to IOCC and donor policies and regulations.
-Provide technical support and supervision for field staff and subordinates.
-Provide support to strengthen and maintain systems and procedures.
-Support planning and project design processes.

Knowledge and Skills:
-Proven knowledge and abilities in project management and coordination, and in implementation of projects related to agriculture and food security.
-Ability to work and to communicate effectively with partners and beneficiaries to ensure compliance with IOCC policies and procedures.
-Strong organizational skills.
-Ability to produce accurate work under tight deadlines.
-Well-developed interpersonal and team skills.
-Detail-oriented.
-Full computer literacy.
-Advanced verbal and written communications skills – fluency in English is mandatory.
-Valid driving license.
-Ability to work throughout the Gaza Strip.

Experience:
-Significant experience in field – level project implementation is mandatory.
-A minimum of five years related experience is preferred.
-Significant work experience with international NGOs is preferred.
-Knowledge with USAID regulations is desirable.

Education: University degree in agriculture. Significant relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
