Reports To:Head of Programs
Note: This position is dependent upon funding as well as the donor’s approval of the proposed Program Director. CRS anticipates a program start date of fall 2015. The applicant must be willing to commit to an assignment of two and a half years.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Project Officer (SPO) will work closely with CRS’ implementing partners to manage a US Government-funded conflict management and mitigation program to address inequitable access to health services. Under the supervision and guidance of the Head of Programs (HoP), the SPO will be responsible for project planning and implementation, timely and accurate reporting to the HoP, partner support, project monitoring and evaluation, and representation of the project to key stakeholders. The SPO will ensure optimal strategic direction and achievement of program objectives in compliance with CRS program quality standards and US Government administrative and financial requirements.
PPSITION REQUIREMNETS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
1-Master’s degree in peace and conflict studies, international relations, public administration, public health, economics, public policy, community development or related field.
2-5 years of project management experience in an international development setting. Strong preference will be given to candidates with experience in the field of peacebuilding and/or health.
3-Previous experience working with local partner agencies and ability to transfer knowledge and skills formally and informally.
4-Budgeting and financial monitoring experience, particularly of USG-funded grants.
5-Strong knowledge of USG regulations required.
6-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - fluency in English and Arabic (high standard of spoken and written English essential to job performance);
7-Proficient in MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, etc;
8. Fluency Hebrew desirable, but not required.
