Position: Senior Psychologist – MHPSS Supervisor

Type: FTC, Full-time, On-site 

Location: Gaza, Palestine 

Salary: ILS 6,432(Per month) 

Reporting to: MHPSS Program Lead

Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) is a leading UK charity dedicated to improving the health and dignity of Palestinians affected by conflict, occupation, and displacement. With a focus on the occupied Palestinian territory and Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon, we provide vital health and medical care to those in need, particularly in crisis zones like Gaza. As part of our commitment to meeting the growing needs of the communities we serve, we're expanding our team. 

The senior psychologist will oversee and supervise the mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) and staff working in MAP medical points and Ministry of Health (MOH) facilities. This role is critical in ensuring the quality, effectiveness, and compliance of MHPSS interventions with international standards, including the IASC guidelines on mental health and psychosocial support in emergency settings and the WHO mental health action plan.

Job Requirements
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in the field of clinical psychology, with relevant experience in therapy and counselling, particularly in a supervisory role within a humanitarian context.
Strong knowledge of humanitarian principles, IASC Guidelines, WHO Mental Health Action Plan, Sphere Standards, and CHS. Have experience or training in working with children and adolescent’s mental health and psychosocial problems and disorders. Previous experience providing training or facilitating capacity-building activities for mental health staff. Good in both spoken and written English and Arabic.
