Senior Roving Community Rehabilitation Specialist

The Gaza Community Mental health Programme-GCMHP is a non-governmental non- profit association rendering community mental health services, conducts studies and research on different psychosocial phenomena, and designs and implements training programs for mental health professionals.
                                                               
GCMHP would like to announce for the following temporary posts as part of the project “Improvement of Mental Health Provision and Building Local Capacity in Gaza" which is implemented in coordination with International Medical Corps (IMC):                                                                                                                             

Senior Roving Community Rehabilitation Specialist (1 Post)

 

Qualifications:
-Bachelor degree in Occupational Therapy, or related field and 2-year Diploma (or Maters degree) in mental health.
-At least 5 years of progressive experience in providing and coordinating rehabilitation services for individuals suffering from mental illness.

Main Responsibilities:
-Assist with duties at rehabilitation center (serving individuals with mental health problems) such as organization of trainings, lectures, and events.
-Identify local community based organizations (CBOs) who are willing and able to provide rehabilitation services and opportunities (vocational training, education, employment) to individuals suffering from mental illness.
-Establish and continue partnerships with selected CBOs to build capacity in providing rehabilitation services to clients with mental illness.
-Conduct workshops and trainings on mental health, mental illness, and advocacy for staff of select CBOs and organizations.
-Set up provision of services and monitor quality of service provision and staff capacity resulting in building the capacity of CBOs to serve individuals with mental illness.
-Provide technical assistance to local CBOs in service provision as needed (this may include spending significant amount of time at CBOs to oversee and support activities).
-Set up and facilitate cross-referral mechanisms with other organizations and clinics.
-Organize trainings and workshops for CBOs, clients with mental illness, and/or the general public.
-Set up and maintain list of community organizations providing services and support for individuals with mental illness.

-Attend weekly training and supervision sessions at GCMHP Rehabilitation Center.
