The Palestine Economic Policy Research Institute (MAS) is an independent, non-profit, national Palestinian institution, specializing in applied research in the field of economic issues and policies and their social dimensions. MAS was established in May 1994. The Institute, which is now 27 years old, has issued more than 300 studies, excluding periodicals. MAS is committed to academic independence and impartiality, in its tireless quest to improve the quality of research and economic analysis, and in nurturing its role in economic development in Palestine.
Recently, MAS has partnered with Global Communities (GC) in the preparations for the Inception Phase of the “Supporting MSMEs’ Growth and Competitiveness in Palestine (SMCGP)” programme funded by the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA). The SMCGP is a comprehensive four-year program designed to support the growth and competitiveness of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in Palestine. Its primary objective is to contribute to sustainable and inclusive economic development by generating employment opportunities and promoting decent and equitable labor conditions, particularly for women and youth. The SMCGP utilize the Market Systems Development (MSD) approach that aims to improve the efficiency, transparency, and inclusivity of the market environment, leading to economic growth, poverty alleviation, and improved living standards for Palestinians.
In this regard, MAS is seeking to recruit several Sectoral Experts/ individual Consultants for a short-term consultancy service covering one or more of the following market sectors:
- Furniture Industries
- Handcrafts Industries
- Footwear and Leather Industries
- Maintenance/ Services Sector
- Childcare/ Services Development
- Gender and Youth Inclusion

- Preferred Master’s degree in economics, MSMEs and private sector development, gender development, social inclusion, or development studies;
- At least 5 years of general and specialized research experience on the Palestinian economy, sectors, or private business development;
- Solid experience in market research and economic development, particularly market systems analysis (MSA/MSD) studies AND/OR gender and youth inclusion.
- Advanced proficiency in qualitative data analysis and reporting.
- Professional English communication skills, orally and in writing.
