Short-Term Physical Capacity Building Evaluator

AMIDEAST, is an international, non-profit, educational organization in the West Bank and Gaza with offices throughout the Middle East and North Africa. AMIDEAST is recruiting for a short-term consultant to conduct an evaluation of the Physical Capacity Building component of its Model Schools Network (MSN) Program. The selected candidate will use existing quantitative data and collect additional qualitative data about MSN’s work on this component with private schools and produce a narrative report in English detailing the impact, efficiency, scalability and sustainability of the program.

Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will collect data, analyze it and produce a final narrative report detailing the impact/effectiveness of MSN’s Physical Capacity Building activities in schools. A complete scope of work can be found at AMIDEAST’s website: www.amideast.org/msn

The essential functions of the position include:
-Collaborate closely with the MSN staff to design and develop the evaluation methodology and timetable;
-Conduct site visits to the MSN private schools in Bethlehem, Hebron, Jericho, Jerusalem and Ramallah;
-Collect qualitative data from MSN’s 17 private schools;
-Analyze all data collected (by both the evaluator and the MSN program staff); and
-Write a final, substantive narrative report on the impact, efficiency, scalability and sustainability of the Physical Capacity Building component of the MSN Program.

Qualifications:
-Graduate degree in education or related field
-Experience in both qualitative and quantitative research methodology and measurement
-At least 5 years of practical working experience in education and/or evaluation
-Availability to conduct the work between November 15, 2011 and January 15, 2012
-Fluency in Arabic and excellent English writing skills
