Site Engineer

Islamic Relief – Palestine (IRPAL) is a humanitarian NGO (WWW.IRPAL.PS) operating
in Palestine in the fields of emergency relief and long-term development. IRPAL intends to
implement a project of “Construction of a School in Askar Camp”, and hence announces
the following vacancy.
Title: Site Engineer
Ref: 2009/26/SE
Location: Askar Camp - Nablus City
Duration: 15 Months (full time)
Deadline for Receipt Applications: 20 May 2009
Duties:
-Participate in reviewing contractors’ bids and selection of best contractor.
-Coordinate with relevant institutions.
-Prepare work plans and time schedules for the project implementing.
-Review / approve of the contractor’s works and material samples, with coordination
with relevant institutions.
-Supervise the implementation of the works on a daily basis.
-Controlling the project scope, time, cost, and quality.
-Document all stages of the project through measurements and photos.
-Review measurement sheets and payment request by contractors.
-Keep record of all project documents.
-Prepare progress reports on the project implementation.
-Carry out other responsibilities and duties within reason as requested by the line
manager. Candidates must posses the following competencies:
-University degree in engineering (civil or Arch.).
-Minimum 5 years of proven experience in management and supervision of similar projects.
-Ability to work under pressure.
-Managerial skills, projects management and other skills.
-Computer skills (Word – excel – MS Project …..)
-reports writing skills
-English language skills
