(Situated learning and Authentic Assessment Consultant)


Introduction

Palestine Technical College-Aroubhas received a grant from the Quality Improvement Fund (QIF) - Education to Work Transition Project - Ministry of Education and Higher Education and funded by the World Bank for the project entitled: Developing Media Technology Center of Competence at PTCA Depending on Local Market Needs and TVET Skills. This project aims to to improve media technology employability and fill the gap between media technology graduates skills and media industry and local market needs. Accordingly, (Palestine Technical College-Arroub) seeks the selection and employment of (Situated learning and Authentic Assessment Consultant).

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

The situated learning and Authentic Assessment Consultant will be responsible for the following tasks:

-Design a training manual to train media technology faculty and expected participants from media industry on:situated learning skills depending on understanding by design approach, and authentic assessment activities that equip learners for market driven skills. 2.Conduct training workshop for faculty and media industry to help them develop and implement situated learning and authentic assessment approach in media technology program.
-Provide mentorship and constructive feedback for faculty during an implantation phase of this training.
-Design, implement and manage all needed activities to help faculty and media industry integrate situated learning and authentic assessment in their practices.
-Suggest intervention methods to help faculty integrate situated learning, understand by design approach, and authentic assessment in media technology training.

Deliverables:

-final Comprehensive Report documenting the whole process including but not limited to: final training plan, samples of participants work, lessons learned and recommendations to support faculty implement gained skills.
-Training manual with all required materials needed to utilize this manual.
-Intervention methods to support faculty and media industry participants apply gained skills in media training.

Job Requirements

Essential Required Qualifications:

-A PhD degree from an accredited university in Instructional Design, Curriculum and Instruction, Education, or any other related field.
-At least 5 years experience in a higher education institution. 3.Must have carried similar assignments.
-A proficient knowledge of the TVET field
-Excellent reporting and formal writing skills in both English and Arabic.

Contract Type:Lump Sum Contract.

Level of Effort: 130 training hours,

No of Expected participants: 16 persons

Time frame: 80 days
