Contract Duration: 3 months with possible extension

General: Lapis Group has won an award from Education Above All to design and launch Youm Jadeed, an education focused project for Palestine. About the Project: Youm Jadeed (New Day) is an educational and psychosocial support initiative designed for Palestinian children aged 7-11. This project, funded by Education Above All, leverages radio, social media and other digital platforms to mitigate harm associated with the educational gap caused by ongoing conflict and provide psychosocial support and resources for children and caretakers. The program aims to develop and broadcast 90 packages of educational content that include a radio program and supplementary audio-visual material for broadcast over FM and online streaming. This will be complemented by a robust multi-platform dissemination and community engagement strategy.

Position Overview: The Social Media & Dissemination Manager will play a crucial role in the Youm Jadeed project by managing the multi-platform dissemination model. S/He will work closely with the production teams to ensure the Youm Jadeed content is adapted and disseminated through multiple online and social media channels. S/He will develop strategies to increase audience engagement and reach, directly manage related social media channels, including website portal, Facebook, WhatsApp and/or Telegram groups dedicated to the project, and work closely with the project team to ensure the effective promotion and distribution of educational and psychosocial content through consistent and engaging content across all channels.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Creation and Management:

  • Implement the Youm Jadeed Social Media Strategy to promote the radio show and supplementary materials.
  • Implement the Youm Jadeed Dissemination Plan by working closely with the product team to curate and produce packages of content and supplementary material suited to the different distribution
  • Implement the Youm Jadeed Work Plan schedule, ensuring all the deadlines are met.
  • Create, manage and coordinate the approval of the content calendar.
  • Create, curate, and manage engaging content across social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Telegram, etc.).
  • Work closely with the project team, including the content development and M&E teams, to ensure the alignment of social media activities with overall project objectives and production timelines.
  • Coordinate with external partners, including local NGOs and educational institutions, to amplify social media
  • Upload the all episodes to designated streaming platforms.
  • Upload the Youm Jadeed episodes to the project’s website
  • Maintain the Youm Jadeed website updated through direct management, and coordinating with the relevant stakeholders, including the web developer.

Audience Engagement:

  • Foster community engagement by responding to comments, messages, and interactions on social media
  • Organize, coordinate and manage WhatsApp and/or Telegram groups for children, caretakers, and practitioners, providing educational content and facilitating discussions.
  • Implement strategies to increase followers, engagement rates, and the reach of social media content.

Analytics and Reporting:

  • Monitor, analyze, and report on social media performance using analytics tools.
  • Provide regular updates on key metrics, including engagement, reach, and audience growth.
  • Use data-driven insights to adjust strategies and improve social media performance.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, digital media, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in social media management, content creation, and digital marketing.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and trends, particularly in educational content dissemination.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic.
  • Ability to analyze data and derive actionable insights.
  • Creative thinking and the ability to innovate and iterate based on progress.
