Job Objectives:
The Social Media Officer (SMO) is responsible for for developing and implementing marketing strategies for all of the PCRF’s social media sites. This includes blogging, creating social media profiles, managing regular posts and responding to followers. It also entails initiating, implementing coordinating social media campaigns with chapters and other volunteers, identifying and managing new content related to PCRF operations on the ground, and initiating new fundraising tools and campaigns to support all aspects of the organization's work.
Detailed Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Manages PCRF’s social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and other relevant platforms
- Engages in social media presence creation on new and emerging social media platforms
- Create engaging and professional visuals that reflect PCRF mission and goal by customize social media pages (ex. Facebook, Twitter, Google+, YouTube) and develop supporting offline collateral, create original content
- Optimizes content following search engine optimization (SEO) and pay-per-click (PPC)
- Creates content that promotes audience interaction, increases audience presence on PCRF website, and encourages audience participation
- Assists media officer and volunteers with large fundraising campaigns, events, and community management
- Works as part of a team to develop large social media campaigns
- Analyses and reports audience information and demographics, and success of existing social media projects
- Proposes new ideas and concepts for social media content
- Works with PCRF staff members to coordinate ad campaigns with social media strategy
- Uses timelines and scheduled content to create a consistent stream of new content for audience interaction while analysing, managing, and altering schedules where necessary to optimize visits
- Manage efforts in building online reviews and reputation. Monitor online reviews and respond to each review.
Skills/Qualifications:
- English native speaker with excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Arabic
- 2+ years of social media marketing experience (prefer to have account management experience).
- Knowledge of social media and analytics software (Hootsuite, Raven Tools, Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, etc.).
- Working knowledge of social media paid advertising campaigns including Facebook, Linkedin, Instagram and Twitter.
- Displays in-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms, their respective participants (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest etc.) and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios.
- Strong editing and writing skills suitable for each platform, from knowing how to write a successful tweet to using effective storytelling techniques
- Possesses functional knowledge and/or personal experience with WordPress.
- Maintains a working knowledge of principles of SEO including keyword research and Google Analytics. Highly knowledgeable in the principles of “Search and Social.”
- Creative skills for contributing new and innovative ideas
- Strong verbal communication skills for articulating ideas to colleagues and volunteers
- organisational skills, with the capacity to prioritise and work across multiple projects
- The ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
