Social Worker
GVC is an Italian NGO founded in 1971. Working in 22 countries worldwide. GVC presence in the oPt dates back to the year 1990 and since then GVC has been implementing emergency and development projects financed by International Donors mainly in WASH and FOOD SECURITY sectors.
GVC is actually recruiting one person to cover the position of: Social Worker
Location: oPt-occupied Palestinian territory, Hebron

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-Participate effectively in social activities implementation in water and sanitation, livelihood, and food security projects.
-Preparing and designing questionnaires carry out field surveys like, KAP and baseline surveys, community profiles.
-Helping in project identification, designing and planning campaigns , concept notes and project proposals
-Participating in projects pre and post monitoring and evaluation, indicators verification, and achieving the project’s objectives and goals.
-Reporting and bookkeeping for all related documents, surveys and data including usage of database system.
-Coordination and communication with local communities, authorities, counterparts, beneficiaries and stakeholders.
-Involvement in needs assessment, data collection, insertion and analysis.
QUALIFICATIONS
-At least 3 years work experience with at least 2 years experience in similar positions with NGOs
-Proven experience with NGOs in social activities with high skills in communication and coordination
-Knowledge of project monitoring and implementation
-Experience in field works and liaison with local communities and beneficiaries
-Minimum of Bachelor degree in social studies, development, public health or related fields.
-High knowledge in MS office and other computer skills.
-Valid driving license

-Highly organised and able to work respecting deadlines, team work and under pressure
-Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English
-Strong sense of responsibility and self-learning
-Ability to work independently while at the same time cooperating with other staff members as well as beneficiaries
-Familiar with participatory and community engagement approaches
-Humanitarian motivation
-Knowledge or familiarity with Bedouin culture and habits, as well as of Area C specific context
-Good initiative and proactive behaviour
Duty Station: Based in Hebron with frequent field visit to the target areas in South Hebron, East Jerusalem and Jordan Valley.
Contract duration: 6 months
