ACAD, the Arab Center for Agricultural Development is a Palestinian non- profit non- governmental organization that has been officially registered in Jerusalem since 1993, aims to enhance the participative rural agricultural development through the integration of marginalized groups, particularly women and youth in the development process and provides decent jobs for them. ACAD provides non-finical “business” support and services concentrating on rural and/ or high poverty rate
Palestinian areas that are particularly affected by the difficult political situation.
ACAD is implementing a three-year EU-funded project “Advancing the Rights of Palestinian Women and Children in East Jerusalem”. This project is managed by Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung (HBS) also it is implemented in close coordination with all partners involved,: Right To Play (RTP), War Child Holland (War Child/ WC), Sawa Organization, ArtLab and the Arab Center for Agricultural Development (ACAD). Within the framework of the project ACAD is seeking a highly qualified Social Worker to fill the position within ACAD office. The Social Worker will manage the EU project under the supervision of the project manager.
ACAD aim to hire a social worker as the following:
Responsibilities:
-Provide psychological counseling for the women and children;
-Conclusion of psychosocial counseling sessions;
-Field visits and household;
-Participate in the preparation and organization of events and community activities for the project;
-Any other duties as may be needed or assigned.
Required Qualifications:
-A University degree in social work, psychology or any relevant field;
-Previous experience of 3 years of counseling, social work;
-Well-developed communication and counseling skills;
-Good knowledge and experience in implementing psycho social services to women and children;
-Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal,
-Computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet…);
-Ability to carry out assigned duties with due diligence and under time pressure;
-Commitment to full time service for the entire duration of the action.
