Social Worker

CONTEXT AND BACKGROUND

Secours Islamique France (SIF) is a Non-Governmental Organization of international solidarity based in France. Founded in 1991, SIF is a non-profit and non-political organization that intents to help, to bring relief and to protect the lives of those threatened by natural disasters, armed conflicts or by economic collapse. SIF provides its help in respect of the cultural diversity, without any distinction of origin, religion or gender. SIF Palestine Mission was established in 2008 and since then, it has set up many concrete activities in order to help in a large scale and developed a comprehensive knowledge of the local context and understanding of local needs.

ROLE IN THE ORGANIZATION

The Social Worker is under the Protection Project Manager, he/she is responsible for field visits works’ aspects, and he/she will work in close cooperation with SIF teams as following:-

Conducts field visits for beneficiaries, prepare reports, fill in questionnaires and collect information about them;
Receives and register new orphans;
Assesses beneficiaries’ needs, analyze data and prepare reports of assessment’s results;
Prepares periodic reports for beneficiaries, and participates in making implementation and follow-up plans;
Distributes the sponsorship vouchers to beneficiaries;
Performs any other duties related as may be assigned.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES

Fluent English Language skills
A Bachelor degree from an accredited university in Social Service or Sociology, or relevant field;
Minimum 3 years work experience in the field of social research and field work , with at least one year with international institutions;
Good reports’ writing and time management skills;
Ability to work within a team and bear the pressure of work with flexible working hours;
Good skills in coordination, communication and networking with all relevant parties;
Ability to establish effective working relationships and deal with people with different backgrounds, cultures and nationalities;
Very Good computer skills: MS Office (especially Word and Excel).

WORKING CONDITIONS

Location: West Bank – With Frequent Travel to Work Sites
Duration: 1 year (renewable)
Starting Date: As Soon As Possible
