Social Workers

Médecins du Monde (MDM) France is an international medical organization, which has been present in the Palestinian territories since 1995. It operates in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank through offices located in Jerusalem, Gaza and Nablus.

MDM is currently looking for qualified candidates to fill the positions of Social Workers based in Nablus.

Number of vacancies: 1
Starting Date: 1st of February 2014.
Duration: 3 Months (with possibility to be extended)

I-MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
-Contribute to organize, implement and follow up the community based activities related to mental health.
-Organize, implement, support and follow up the implementation of MDM mental health crisis intervention activities in the targeted village.
-Participate and provide inputs, for MH and psycho-social aspects, during need assessments, elaboration of new projects and activities, and communication and advocacy activities.
-Contribute to maintain links with the mental health network and/or partner organizations.
-Contribute to organize and follow up other activities such as workshops, speaking groups, training sessions, public meetings, community awareness, and psychosocial activities for the community.

II-Requirments:
-University degree as social worker, with at least 3 years of work experience with NGOs.
-Skills in project programming and evaluation, experience in emergency response.
-Ability to recognize children at risk for mental health disorders
-Good knowledge and experience in implementing psycho social services with at the community level
-Good knowledge of mental health diseases and psychosocial model of interventions.
-Knowledge of the context an asset.
-Good communication skills.
-Experience in training, monitoring and evaluation.
-Good command of English and Arabic languages (both written and spoken).
-Computer skills (word, excel, PowerPoint, statistics software…).
