Job Title: Software developer

Supervision received: The software developer reports to the WFP Information Management Officer
Accountabilities: Within delegated authority, the software developer will be responsible for the following duties:
Description of tasks:
1-Software development of existing and new mobile applications
2-Software development of existing and new web-based applications
3-Database design and development
4-API design and development for existing systems
Software development of existing and new mobile applications
-Maintain development the GRASP app for Android mobile devices
-Develop other applications as required
-Porting of GRASP app to iOS platform may be required
Software development of existing and new web-based applications
-Maintain development of the GRASP reporting application
-Develop front-ends and small web-based applications as required
Database design and development
-Design and develop a unified database system to link all the CO databases in use, based on a common API
Expected Results:
With initiative and judgement produces organised, accurate and well documented software, working in concert with other developers in WFP and in partner agencies, applying industry standards. Addresses unforeseen situations seeking advice and guidance from supervisor, as necessary.
Qualifications:

-Education: Secondary, however University degree preferably, in Computer Science, Computer/Database programming or Information Technology.
-Experience: At least three years of progressively responsible positions related to software development and database design.
-Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Arabic.
-Knowledge: Excellent working knowledge in Java, C# using the Android SDK and Microsoft Visual Studio.General knowledge of UN system policies, rules, regulations and procedures governing human resources administration.
The Special Service Agreement is a short term contract modality and has no entitlement/ benefit except of the health insurance. Any leaves during the contract duration will be deducted from the monthly salary.
The post is equivalent to SB3/1 SC5 with a total salary (lump sum) of 8158 ILS/month
