SRHR Officer
Founded in 1993, Médecins du Monde Switzerland is a medical association of international solidarity that is part of the Médecins du Monde network. We provide sustainable access to health care for people in vulnerable situations in Switzerland and around the world.
MdM Switzerland, has been working in the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt) since 1994 in the sector of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS), implementing emergency and development interventions, focusing on victim of occupation-related violence, children and detention, suicide prevention and management, strengthen of access to mental health cares at national and community level, and advocacy initiative.
Duty station: Gaza
Main mission:
To implement the mission’s SRHR activities as defined and in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
Main tasks and duties:
- Identify needs of the community, teams, and partners.
Raise awareness about preventive care and disease prevention and build SRH capacities and knowledge among communities, teams (MdM and/or partners). - supervise and implement the SRH service delivery and implement corrective measures improving the quality of care.
- Deliver training sessions and contribute to the design of training modules.
- Follow-up internal and external referrals.
- Carry out surveys (impact studies, evaluations, etc.) among the population, partners, etc.
- Provide technical reports on activities with quantitative data, as well as qualitative analysis.
- Lead networks and manage of local actors.
- Contribute towards the preparation of tools and procedures.
- Collect data and participate in data analysis and reporting through and with local partners and project staff.
- Participate in working meetings and coordinate with partner structures.
- Contribute to partner evaluation.
- Participate in designing activities.
- Participate in advocacy work and provide case study, testimonies and/or success stories.
- Depending on the configuration of the mission, supervise the team (plan and monitor activities, recruitment, discipline, training, etc.)
- In collaboration with the SRH Advisor, represent MdM-CH in the SRH TWG and other clusters and working groups.
Main Skills:
- Deep understanding of national SRHR context and policies, as well as international SRHR standards and MdM approach to SRHR.
- Knowledge of the population and their environment (needs, understanding, care, acceptance, relationship with the target audiences, etc.)
- Full understanding of the national healthcare system (including organisation, curriculum of medical profiles and national healthcare policies and programmes) and ability to summarise/grasp the key elements.
- Capacity to identify, analyse, prioritise, and summarise information in the relevant field.
- Experience in analyzing and identifying training needs, designing and leading training sessions.
- Understanding of adults learning principles and techniques
- Capacity and confidence to express oneself in public.
- Ability to write professional documents, organise, classifie, communicate.
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Communicate MdM values and positions.
- Being flexible and adaptable; understand and accept changes in the environment regarding people, tasks, work decisions, policies, etc.
- Use the Microsoft Office Pack.

Qualifications:
- Degree in the medical field (MD, midwife, nurse)
- Master’s degree in public health and master/diploma in Sexual and Reproductive Health and rights (SRHR) or a related field as an asset.
- Extensive experience in SRHR.
- At least 5 years of experience in providing medical services/Primary Health Care settings, with a focus on sexual and reproductive health, maternal and child health, within the last 5 years.
- Working experience within the Humanitarian Sector and INGOs is an advantage.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering training sessions and capacity-building activities for healthcare workers.
- Experience working with adolescent and youth-friendly approaches is an asset.
- Training and/or experience in Gender approach is an asset.
CONDITIONS:
- The position is based in Gaza
- Working Hours: Standard office working hours from Sunday to Thursday.
