Job Description

The youth Development Department (YDD) since it’s establishment in June 2000 works on supporting and strengthening the Palestinian youth institutions in Jerusalem, and emphasizes the important role of youth for the development and future of the Jerusalem Governorate. YDD’s Mission is working to empower and develop the capacity and skills of the young Palestinian specially the Jerusalemite one and their families and youth organizations working with them to improve their lives according to their needs and the national plan for the youth in the highest level of quality.
The Youth Development Department “YDD “is seeking a visionary ,dynamic and motivated candidates to join its team in  implementing leading and managing the EU Funded Youth Healthy Development Program intends to develop a comprehensive intervention targeting adolescents and youth at risk of maladaptive behaviours offering them healthier and stimulating environment, providing recreational, sport and life skills activities that will build their self-confidence and direct them into positive behaviours. This will be addressed by envisaging a direct involvement and support of families and caregivers who will be educated on how to identify and deal with adolescents and youth at risk helping them to avoid dangerous behaviours, lead healthy and drug free lives and feel they can positively influence the development of their communities, while strengthening the capacities of youth serving institutions and organisations.
 

 

Technical Advisor: ( Part Time) Ref : ( YDD - 9/3/13)

 
Duties:
-Work with Project coordinators  on the development of implementation plans
-Ensure that the technical quality of interventions conform with international accepted standard.
-Lead the development of strategic and operation plans for respective sector
-Work with other members of the program committee for identification of priorities
-Support the development and design of technical interventions (proposals)
-Prepare and submit report(s) regarding status of psychosocial development, including “lessons learned” derived from specific project activities and interventions; national policies, guidance and practices; and international policies, guidance, and practices
 
Qualifications
-Minimum of Bachelor degree in social studies, development, public health or related fields.
-Good knowledge about strategic and operational directions of the field at national level
-Good connections and network with various institutions and line ministries.
-Experience working with an International Non-governmental Organization.
-Demonstrated record in program development and strong conceptual skills
-High technical capacity and coaching ability
-Leadership skills with good ability to work in team
-Creativity and good ability in problem solving
-Excellent linguistic abilities, especially reporting, proposal development and presentation and negotiation
-Computer skills
-Good knowledge and exposure to international level experience in the psychosocial sector not required, but desirable
