THE ORGANIZATION

Handicap International is an international organisation specialised in the field of disability. Non-governmental, non-religious, non-political and non-profit making, it works alongside people with disabilities, whatever the context, offering them assistance and supporting them in their efforts to become self-reliant. Since its creation, the organisation has set up programmes in approximately 60 countries and intervened in many emergency situations
Specific Objective : Persons with disabilities can access to holistic physical rehabilitation services in the West Bank
-Expected result 1 : The physical rehabilitation centres operating in the West Bank deliver holistic services.
-Expected result 2 : PwDs are able to obtain a diverse range of adapted to their specific needs and affordable assistive device (AD's)
-Expected result 3 : Accessible transportation options facilitate PWDs' access to rehabilitation services
-Expected result 4 : PWDs, their families and all relevant stakeholders have information about the existing rehabilitation services
THE JOB
Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the Technical advisor is responsible for:
1-Technical Support to launch the four-year project
Under the supervision and responsibility of the Project Manager:
1.1 build the training for Physiotherapists and Occupational therapists:
1.2 build the training for Social workers:
1.3.Training on user’s centered approach:
1.4.Training of 50 OT and rehabilitation workers and material support for identification and provision of appropriate AD's for PWDs
2-Coordination with the technical resources unit in HI-ME
Skills required:
-Bachelor Degree in Occupational Therapy is compulsory (Master in public Health) is an asset.
-Fluent in both written and spoken English
-Excellent computer skills, especially in the use of publisher and Access
-Knowledge of project cycle management, especially logical frameworks
-Experience in designing and implementing training
-Willingness to travel to the field
-Excellent communication skills
-Excellent organisational skills
-Experience in the development sector is an asset
Initial contract will be for a period of 30 months and the position is based at Jersusalem office
