GIZ has been commissioned by the German Government to implement the

“Local Governance Reform Programme (LGRP)”
In order to support the Programme Team in Gaza we are looking for a
 

Technical Coordinator


Responsibilities & tasks:
-Assist in providing strategic input for the conceptualization of the programme areas of intervention;
-Providing support to the elaboration, planning and management of key work packages (e.g. Social Accountability, Association of Local Authorities APLA, Youth, planning, etc.);
-Ensure the achievement of work packages’ results and provide proper monitoring and reporting
-Assist in defining the strategic partners to achieve the programme objective as well as the proper overall  implementation modalities;
-Define reform potentials pertaining to policies and strategies in the local governance sector
-Enhance the integration of planning and e-governance mechanisms and tools with Gaza (e.g. Baladiat.ps, Geo-MolG, Dooz, etc.)
-Assisting in the  preparation of action plans and related budgets;
-Assisting in the monitoring of the respective areas of intervention;
-Assisting in developing the capacities of partners and ensuring optimum cooperation and coordination with them to implement the agreed upon work packages efficiently and effectively;
-Assist in promoting inter – municipal cooperation, city to city cooperation, and facilitate municipal networking events and activities;

Required qualifications
-University degree in public administration, business administration, management or any related field, or equivalent office work experience;
-At least 8 years proven professional experience in a comparable position with  proven organizational skills, solid understanding of organizational development theories, moderation skills,  strategic planning, e-governance and social accountability;
-Excellent command of spoken and written English and Arabic, good command of German is an asset;
-Capable of  demonstrating work under stressful conditions, self-initiator, flexible and able to work in a multicultural setting, team and service oriented, friendly personality, well organized and motivated, capable of meeting strict deadlines;
-Excellent computer literacy in all MS Office Programs;
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail;
-Resident of Gaza with ability to travel to West Bank and abroad, if needed.


Assignment: Starting 15th of April 2016. 12 months contract with possible extension
