Job Description
The German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) is an international cooperation enterprise for sustainable
development with worldwide operations. GTZ promotes complex reforms and change processes. Its corporate objective is to improve people’s living conditions on a sustainable basis.
In the context of German-Palestinian Technical Cooperation, GTZ has been commissioned by the
German Government to implement the second phase of the

In the context of German-Palestinian Technical Cooperation, GTZ has been commissioned by the
German Government to implement the second phase of the
“Private Sector Development Program (PSDP)“
To support the Program Team at the German House for Development Cooperation in Al-Bireh, we
are looking for a
are looking for a
“Technical Coordinator”
for the implementation of program activities of the PSDP with the public and private sector partners.
Responsibilities and tasks include but are not limited to:
-Planning, management and implementation of program activities in the areas of e.g. process
improvement, service delivery, monitoring and evaluation systems, customer feedback mechanisms;
-Under the direction of the sub-component managers, take ownership of work-streams within the
joint initiatives with the Ministry of National Economy as well as the Chambers of Commerce;
-In the context of these sub-components, responsibilities to include:
-ensuring efficient and timely delivery of ongoing project milestones;
-design and development of new or follow-on activities;
-coordination with technical teams of partner institutions;
-management of third party contractors;
-regular reporting and documentation of project progress and impact.
-Advising partner institutions in addition to assisting in the preparation of technical reports;
-Support of the component managers in management and administration.
Required qualifications:
-University degree in the fields of Economics, Public Administration, Business Administration or
university degree in another field with at least 5 years relevant work experience;
-At least 5 years of professional experience in working in the Palestinian private sector or a private
sector association or with international organizations in the fields of private sector development;
practical experience of process review and improvement an asset.
-Fluency in English and Arabic (oral and written), knowledge of German would be an asset;
-Ability to work within interdisciplinary teams;
-Excellent interpersonal and intercultural communication skills;
-Computer literacy and driving license.
Assignment: Starting 15. March 2010.
