Job Description
The German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) is an international cooperation enterprise for sustainable
development with worldwide operations. GTZ promotes complex reforms and change processes. Its corporate objective is to improve people’s living conditions on a sustainable basis.
In the context of German-Palestinian Technical Cooperation, GTZ has been commissioned by the
German Government to implement the second phase of the
development with worldwide operations. GTZ promotes complex reforms and change processes. Its corporate objective is to improve people’s living conditions on a sustainable basis.
In the context of German-Palestinian Technical Cooperation, GTZ has been commissioned by the
German Government to implement the second phase of the
“Private Sector Development Program (PSDP)”
To support the Program Team at the GTZ Projects Office in Gaza, we are looking for a
“Technical Coordinator- Gaza”
for the implementation of program activities of the PSDP with the private sector partners.
Responsibilities and tasks include but are not limited to:
-Under the direction of the component manager, take ownership of work-streams within the joint initiatives with the private sector partners;
-In the context of these sub-components, responsibilities to include:
-planning, design and development of new or follow-on activities;
-ensuring efficient and timely delivery of ongoing project milestones;
-coordination with technical teams of partner institutions;
-management of third party contractors;
-regular reporting and documentation of project progress and impact.
-Advising partner institutions in addition to assisting in the preparation of technical reports;
-Support of the component managers in management and administration.
Required qualifications:
-University degree in the fields of Economics, Business, Business Administration or another relevant field;
-At least 5 years of professional experience in working in the Palestinian private sector or a private sector association or with international organizations in the fields of private sector development.
-Fluency in English and Arabic (oral and written), knowledge of German would be an asset;
-Ability to work within interdisciplinary teams;
-Excellent interpersonal and intercultural communication skills;
-Computer literacy.
-Knowledge of ICT Sector Development and /or Green Buildings would be an asset
Assignment: Starting September 1, 2010, negotiable. Depending on qualification and experience,
the successful candidate may be initially employed as a Technical Officer.
