Job Title: Part-time Technical Media Specialist
Location: Gaza Strip
Contract: 1 Year
Salary: $2,300.00/Month
Through working with the local media the Aswatona project aims to improve citizen awareness and involvement in community-level democracy and governance issues, as well as to increase and improve the coverage of local news, including local manifestations of broad themes such as rule of law, good governance, and corruption.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
- Organizing in-house trainings for local partner stations and identify quality trainers.
- Determining gaps and designing workshops, trainings, and other interventions in partnership with the team.
- Maintaining close relationships with Gaza-based NGOs and CSOs.
- Developing specific trainings and workshops for young women journalists. Required Skill Set
- Bachelors Degree in Media with minimum 5 years media experience.
- IT experience as it applies to internet based media is a plus
- Skills to recognize the technical, financial, and organizational needs of media outlets and electronic media.
- Mastery of new media components including, but not limited to, blogs, citizen journalism, editing and uploading videos, and social networking sites.
- Familiarity with the work of local NGOs and CSOs, as well as the ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with key personnel.
- Strong command of English language in speaking, reading, and writing.
