The German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) is an international cooperation enterprise for sustainable

In the context of German-Palestinian Technical Cooperation, GTZ has been commissioned by the
German Government to implement the second phase of the

“Private Sector Development Program (PSDP)“
To support the Program Team at the German House for Development Cooperation in Al-Bireh, we
are looking for a
are looking for a
“Technical Officer – M&E”
for the support of the Team Leader and sub-component teams in planning, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), documentation, reporting, knowledge management, PR and cross-cutting technical and quality issues.
Responsibilities and tasks include but are not limited to:
-Work on development and maintenance of monitoring and evaluation (M&E) system for the PSDP;
-Work on cross-cutting technical and quality issues, e.g. gender, environment.
-Support the sub-component teams in developing implementation plans and progress reports;
-Writing reports and documentation of PSDP progress and impact achieved;
-Assist in developing and maintaining PSDP knowledge management systems, including updating
and collecting information from sub-component teams;
-Participate in PR activities as required;
-Independent execution of tasks according to existing plans, assist supervisor or colleagues with
their tasks in specific fields;
-Provide back office technical support to the sub-component teams when required.
Required qualifications:
-University degree e.g. in the fields of Business Administration, International Relations, Economics.
-3-5 years of professional experience in working in the Palestinian private sector enterprise, or
with international organizations, or academic institution in the fields of planning, monitoring
and evaluation, or equivalent;
-Experience in writing and preferably publishing studies and reports on the Palestinian private
sector, aid coordination;
-Fluency in English and Arabic (oral and written), knowledge of German and/or French would be an asset;
-Ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams;
-Excellent interpersonal and intercultural communication skills;
Assignment: expected starting date September 2010, negotiable.
