General Position Summary:
NATUF invites applications for the position “Career and Alumni Coordinator” under Al-Fakhoora Scholarships and empowerment project which is implemented in partnership with United Nations Development / Programme of Assistance to the Palestinian People UNDP/PAPP, funded by the Al-Fakhoora Campaign – Qatar and the Islamic development Bank (IDB).
The Career and Alumni coordinator will work at Al-Fakhoora House.
Al-Fakhoora House, is an activity of Al-Fakhoora Dynamic Futures Programme of the UNDP/PAPP and implemented in partnership with local implementing partners in Gaza, Natuf and EJ-YMCA . Al-Fakhoora House represents the venue to host Al-Fakhoora Student Services Unit, Al-Fakhoora Alumni, and the local implementing partners’ teams, and the Office of the Representative of Al-Fakhoora Campaign- Qatar in Palestine. The House offers services to 320 Al-Fakhoora undergraduates and graduates scholars in Gaza.
Job Title: Career and Alumni Coordinator
Position Type: Regular Employment – Full Time
Starting Date: ASAP
Contract duration: 1 year of possible extensionto three years (Three-month trial period)
Location: Gaza
Job Duties:
-Planning and determining the Career advising and Alumni activities in cooperation with the relevant project stakeholders, Al-Fakhoora House steering committee and UNDP-PMU.
-identifying and Preparing Career advising services and action plan with clear administrative and financial procedures.
-identifying and Preparing Alumni activities and annual action plan with clear administrative and financial procedures.
-Preparing cost estimation and activities budget and where each activity will be charged.
-Implementing the Career advising services and Alumni approved activities.
-Supervising the implementation of the project activities by service providers, suppliers, partners, trainers, and mentors.
-Make sure that Al Fakhoora House steering committee, UNDP-PMU and donors’ requirement in terms of Career and Alumni implementation and reporting and other quality and timeliness are fully met.
-Keeping track records of all project documents and documenting all project stages through reporting, case studies and success stories.
-Preparing regular progress reports on the project as requested by the steering committee, UNDP PMU and donors’ requirement.
-Collaborating with other house team members and coordinators to ensure the success of activities implementation.
-Performing any other related responsibilities according to job needs.
-Identify means of Alumni networking and ensure Alumni’s members’ commitment.
-Network with local and regional businesses to offer very well designed internship opportunities.
-Work closely with the Al Fakhoora Alumni’s elected committee on identifying annual Alumni activities;approve submitted Alumni annual proposals, trainings, events, and etc.
-Organize, attend and minute meetings with Alumni members.
Skills/Qualifications:
Capacity building and projects’ institutionalization,Career Guidance, Career Counseling,Internship, youth employability experience, Knowledge of the jobs’ Market , Alumni networking, Leadership, Tracking Budget Expenses, Self-Development, Planning, Performance Management, monitoring and evaluation, effective written and Verbal Communications.
Requirements:
-Bachelor or Master Degree inproject management, business administration, Career advising, Youth empowerment, Economics or any related discipline,
-At least 3 years of proven professional experience working with Alumni / youth empowerment / youth employment / with at least twoyears in project management capacity.
-Previous experience working with NGOs/INGOs and donors is required and strongly preferred.
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
-Strong reporting and writing skills.
-Written and verbal fluency in English is a must
-Ability to manage a complex and diverse workload and to work to tight deadlines, and multi-tasked teams.
-Ability to contribute and collaborate to a proactive team, motivating staff and working collaboratively with colleagues and providing support and advice as necessary.
-Willingness and ability to dramatically change work practices and hours, and work with incoming surge teams.
-A full appreciation of the value of co-operation, both internationally and within a team environment.
-Strong knowledge of financial procedures and liquidation processes and documentation.
-Previous knowledge in dealing with students, graduates, and Alumni networking and career guidance is an asset.
-Proven experience in dealing with Youth community as main beneficiaries is preferred.
-Proven experience and knowledge on youth employability chances is an asset.
-Beingan active Alumni member of local or international Alumna is an asset.
-To be flexible to change
-To be able to multi task and coordinate various responsibilities and prioritize work load effectively
-To have the ability to think creatively and add value to existing projects.
-To work in line with the organization’s ( Donor’s and implementer’s vision )
-Have the Ability to design,, deliver, coordinate workshops and trainings in Career advising.
