Right To Play is an international humanitarian organization that uses sport and play programs to improve health, develop life skills, and foster peace for children and communities in the most disadvantaged areas of the world. Working in both the humanitarian and development context, Right To Play trains local community leaders as Coaches to deliver our programs in more than 20 countries affected by war, poverty, and disease in Africa, Asia and the Middle East.

Title:  Training Officer
Based: Ramallah
Starting Date: 1st April 2010

Right To Play is now seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Training Officer for the sport and play program to be based in it’s office in Ramallah. The primary responsibility of the training officer is to support the development and implementation of Right To Play’s resources and training programs.
Responsibilities include:
-Design, develop, conduct and supervise training workshops, and the delivery of workshops to project coordinators and supervisors.
-Provide all training needed for staff on all Right To Play resources
-Provide leadership for overall training activities related to RTP in country
-Ensure that training activities are in-line with all project grant agreements
-Conduct ongoing review of RTP resources and the training plan
-Determine the specification of sport and training equipment and tools needed for implementation and evaluate items offered by suppliers.
-Organize field visits for management staff and visitors to project sites in coordination with project coordinators.
-Provide reports on all training activities and any other reports as needed.
-Carry out any other related tasks as assigned.

Required qualifications:
-University degree in physical education, social science or related field.
-At least three to five years of relevant employment experience, with demonstrated experience in physical education and training
-Experience in community outreach programs.
-Strong training skills.
-Good knowledge and experience in children and youth fields.
-Fluent in Arabic with English writing and verbal skills
-Strong communication, facilitation and people skills.
-Ability to work under pressure and as a team member.
-Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
-Comprehensive computer skills.
-Driving licence is an asset.
