Position Title: Travel Assistant

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is seeking highly qualified candidates for the position of Travel Assistant. The primary purpose of this position is to assist as the Mission’s point of contact for all travel and transportation arrangements for personnel assigned to or visiting the Mission. Advises USAID personnel of their entitlements in a wide variety of travel situations; prepares Travel Authorizations for official travel; makes flight reservations; acts as Systems Administrator for the government electronic travel management system, resetting passwords and setting up new accounts; assists U.S. and local employees in obtaining visas and other documents necessary to engage in travel; assists visitors to the mission by making hotel reservations and preparing country clearances; makes arrangements for local conferences and training courses by obtaining quotations, conducting negotiations, ensuring correct funding documentation is in place and liaising with requesting offices and hotel staff on logistics; prepares related correspondence and reports concerning travel matters; maintains individual working files and records. The work environment is open, with a current staff of about 140 people and requires motivated, customer service-oriented individuals. The position is located in the USAID offices in Tel Aviv.

QUALIFICATIONS SOUGHT:

-Completion of secondary school is required.  Two years of collegiate study in business, personnel or a related field is highly desirable.
-Two to three years of progressively responsible experience in the travel industry, customer service, personnel or some closely related field is required.
-Must have strong interpersonal, customer service, problem solving and decision making skills.
-Must have strong Internet search abilities in order to find information and regulations to provide to supervisors and employees.
-Must be able to deal tactfully, yet effectively, with USAID personnel and VIP visitors.
-Complete proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications is required. Typing level II is required.
-Level IV (fluent) English is required.  Hebrew and Arabic is highly desirable.
