Background:
UNDP/PAPP- is seeking a candidate to fill the position of Security Support, under the overall guidance of the Deputy Special Representative - Operations and the direct supervision of Local Security Assistant. As this position is related to UNRCP Building in the occupied Palestinian territory with an expected duration of one and a half years, the Service Contract extension will be conditioned to satisfactory performance evaluation as well as availability of funding under the project.
Description of Responsibilities:
Ensure all UNRCP security arrangements are in place under the supervision of the Local Security Assistant:
- Ensure all security arrangements are in place in case of emergency.
- Provides assistance to all staff of all agencies and visitors to the UNRCP building
- Assist Local Security Assistant in all related security requirements when requested.
Ensure all UNRCP security arrangements are in place under the supervision and guidance of the Local Security Assistant:
- Implement UNRCP proper access procedures, pass and ID system.
- Deny access to any one carrying a weapon.
- Search visitors personal bags and physical search if needed.
- Implement proper vehicle search at the vehicle entrance.
- Regular patrolling all around the building.
- Ensure proper registry at the daily handover book.
- Ensure proper registry of UN car movements.
- Assist in the evacuation drill exercise conducted twice a year with all specified tasks for the security support.
- Maintenance of UNRCP premises and assets.
- Maintain contact with police in front of the premises.
Ensure all security arrangements are in place in case of emergency:
- Ensure VHF radio office base functional and implement radio check with DSS.
- Assist in updating staff and dependents’ lists if requested.
- Maintain direct contact with Local Security Assistant to inform about any related security incident or information.
Provides assistance to all staff of all agencies and visitors to the UNDP building:
- Deal in respectful way with staff and visitors.
- Coordinate when requested with agencies visitors’ daily arrangements.
Assist Local Security Assistant in all related security requirements when requested:
- Be prepared to work in shifts and double shifts if required.
- Assist Local Security Assistant in administrative related tasks if requested.

The key results have an impact on the security and safety of all staff and visitors to the UNRCP premises in Ramallah.

Qualifications :
Education:
Secondary education completed.
Experience:
1 - 2 years of experience in security related position is preferred.
Prior experience with the UN system or an international NGO is desirable.
Other Skills and Requirements:
- Solid computers skills (MS Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint);
- Physically fit
Language Requirements:
Very good language skills in English and fluency in Arabic language is required.
