The Department of Safety and Security is responsible for providing leadership, operational support and oversight of the security management system to enable the safest and most efficient conduct of the programmes and activities of the United Nations
Description of Responsibilities:
Summary of key functions:
-Administration of the staff of the GSCO including roster management, supervision of handover between SOA’s at shift change, and general supervision of the operational functioning of the GSCO
-Ensuring that the FSCO’s are immediately informed of all security incidents;
-Assist FSCO’s in preparing the Threat Assessment Report and SMT / Security Cell presentations for the CSA with inputs from respective FSCOs/LSAs.
-Approve TRIP clearances under guidance of FSCO. To provide security briefing to new/visiting staff as per the roster
-Undertake LSA duties on approval of the FSCO; should it be operationally required and in case other LSAs are absent from the duty
-Function / Expected Results
SSOA to ensure the Radio Room is manned 24/7.Handover of duties is supervised to fulfil the required tasks of the Radio Room.

To fulfill the requirement of information flow and updating Security Professionals of UNDSS and other Agencies with Security related information.

Prepare required details (incident summaries, data base related information etc) for the Area Security Management Team (ASMT) in order to assist CSA/DSA/FSCO and SIA)

Monitoring and maintaining current staff lists in conjunction with agency security focal points and providing staff members with the mandatory Duty Station security briefing.

Stand in for an LSA in case he/she is absent and other LSAs are not able to fulfill the duties.

Qualifications :
Education:
High school diploma, BA degree in administration, operations, or security studies is an asset.
Experience:
Minimum of 6 years of related field.
Language Requirements & other skills:
English and Arabic (fluent), Hebrew would be considered an important asset.
A valid driving license.
