Background:
 
The Department of Safety and Security is responsible for providing leadership, operational support and oversight of the security management system, ensure the maximum security for staff and eligible dependents as well as enable the safest and most efficient conduct of the programmes and activities of the United Nations System.
Description of Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the Field Security Coordination Officer (FSCO), and overall supervision of the Chief Security Adviser, the selected candidate is expected to perform the following tasks:
-Manage online security clearance request system.
-Manage documents filing and digital archiving system
-Monitor media sources, obtaining updates and follow up, with focus on West Bank related issues. Collect and collate data for security reporting purposes.
-Under direct supervision of FSCO, prepare draft PowerPoint presentations (PPT) for Area Security Management Team (ASMT) meetings.
-Draft minutes from ASMT meetings for FSCO review
-Prepare updated draft PPT for Security Cell meetings.
-Update West Bank warden lists.
-Draft appointment letters for WB Zone Wardens
-Draft documents in Arabic and translate documents from Arabic to English.
-Conduct security briefings for visitors and newly appointed staff members.
-Assistance on Warden training delivery
-Act as facilitator and translator during meetings with West Bank counterparts in the absence of the Local Security Assistant (LSA).
-Assist the LSA with admin and logistic arrangements for security training courses.
-Assist FSCO and LSA with fire safety inspections.
-Assist FSCO and LSA in conducting evacuation drills for UN offices and premises.
-Provide UNDSS WB logistic support for external Missions, visitors and VIPs.
-Supervise UNRCP security guards in the absence of WB LSA.
-Assist FSCO and LSA in conducting MORSS assessments.
-Assist FSCO and LSA in conducting MOSS Compliance Assessments
-Assist FSCO and LSA in updating standard Operating Procedures (SOPs.
-Maintains list of International staff living in West Bank.
-Assist FSCO and LSA in maintaining WB detailed contacts lists.
-Receives visitors and assist with other administrative tasks.
-Works with the JSCO team in providing safety and security assistance, mission tracking, managing security clearances, and various other security related tasks related to duty in a 24/7 communication room.

1-Ensure the UNDSS WB office is up-to-date in terms of reporting and required feedback.

2-Assist in fulfilling the required information flow and updating JSCO (Joint Security Coordination Office) on WB related issues

3-Prepare required details (incident summaries, data base related information etc…) related to WB for the security cell meetings in order to assist CSA/DSA and SIA
4-Maintain international staff and dependents lists for those residing in WB and provide security briefings.
5-Stand in for LSA when necessary.
 
Impact of Results

Based on the key functions and expected results, the impact is expected to have better performance, better clients’ assistance in providing safety and security related needs, better time management, maintaining databases of the UNDSS System in I/WB/G with WB specific enhancing improved capabilities and performance of the UNDSS WB and JSCO ensuring the most accurate outcome.

Qualifications :
Education:
2 years diploma or BA of business Administration, operations, or security studies is an asset.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years in security related field.
