Project Assistant
Duty Station: Jerusalem
Duration: 3 months (with possible extension of 12 months)
Position: Full-time
Deadline: Sunday, 5 April 2009

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
The Project Assistant, in relation to the assigned project, will assist in:
the execution, implementation and regular monitoring of the overall project and individual activities; the communication among and coordination of staff related to the project; the daily coordination and implementation of all project-related activities; all administrative and logistic tasks; ensuring continuous and smooth coordination and flow of information with project partners; ensuring flow of information among UNIFEM oPt staff involved in closely related projects and programmes; all reporting duties.
Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in Development studies, History, Archeology, Art History, Culture, gender studies or similar field, Thorough proved understanding of gender issues and women's empowerment. Demonstrated communication, facilitation and networking skills. Ability to work under tight deadlines. Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Flexibility. Ability to work independently as well as in team. Valid driving license. A minimum of 3 years of working experience as project assistant. Excellent communication and writing skills in both English and Arabic. Previous working experience with UN Agencies will be an asset.
