Terms of Reference
Under the guidance of the Project Manager, the Project Associate substantively contributes to the effective management of UNFPA in all aspects of Global Fund project implementation.
United Nations Population Funds (UNFPA), in its capacity as a sub-recipient, and in partnership with the Palestinian National AIDS Committee (NAC) and other stakeholders will be implementing a five-year programme funded by the Global Fund to Combat Tuberculosis, HIV and Malaria, on preventing HIV/AIDS in the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt).Within this project, UNFPA will be implementing a multidisciplinary programme that includes activities within a wide range of areas such as behavior change communication (BCC), media, capacity building, procurement of equipment and supplies and operational research.Through partnership with other UN agencies, the programme aims at building the national capacity to effectively respond to the epidemic and minimize its impact on the Palestinian population with special focus on groups at high risk and vulnerability.
Through working with the national partners within the National AIDS Committee (NAC), the aim is to formulate, enhance and institutionalize a national response to HIV/AIDS in the Palestinian community.
Through significant input towards enhancing system of prevention and care for people affected by the disease, the project is oriented towards supporting a sustainable system to combat HIV/AIDS and help individuals and families affected by the disease and empower community structures and social networks.
Within the named project, the Project Associate will carry out the following functions:
• Provide support to overall achievements of goals and outcomes of the Global Fund project.
• Assist in establishing and maintaining good liaison with governmental and nongovernmental partners as well as concerned UN agencies.
• Contribute to monitoring of project activities implemented by national partners and report on progress achieved.
• Provide logistical support to the project by coordinating review meetings and other related workshops and events.
• Assist in the preparation of required reports for donors and senior management.
• Ensure regular information/progress reports are delivered on time by different partners and in accordance with the Global Fund regulations.
• Represent the project in national fora and partners meetings as requested.
• Coordinating, follow up and attend regular events and activities implemented by different partners.
• Participate in UNFPA programme strategy meetings in regards to the Global Fund.
• Coordinate meetings with project main partners: government and NGOs, assisting in identifying relevant sources of expertise for project/activity implementation.
• Any other tasks that may be assigned.

Job Requirements
Academic Requirements: University degree in health or other related social science field.
Experience: Three to five years of related professional experience, preferably in RH prgramme management in public or private sector.
Languages: Fluency in oral and written English and Arabic
Computer Skills: Proficiency in current office software applications
