PLACE IN THE ORGANIZATION
The incumbent of this post is responsible to the Chief Field Health Programme either directly or through the Area Health Officer, as applicable.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
In accordance with Agency policy and procedures, the incumbent:
-Operates general clinic or other special services, including maternal and child health, control of non-communicable diseases as well as for hospital referrals and medical examination of Agency staff.
-Operates and administers the health centre to which he/she is assigned, including organization of services, personnel supervision, supply management and reporting.
-Supervises the work of other medical, nursing and para-medical staff in the health centre to which he/she is assigned and other community activities including school health and environmental sanitation in camps, where applicable.
-Performs medical examination of applicants for special hardship assistance.
-Participates in on-the-job and in-service training of other staff in accordance with the approved plans.
-Performs other duties as may be required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Academic and Professional qualifications
-A medical degree from a recognized university including an internship of at least twelve-month duration.
-A valid license (both governmental and Medical Association) to practice medicine in the country of duty station.
Experience
At least five years of satisfactory professional working experience, of which at least three years should have been with public health services.
Language
Good command of spoken and written English and Arabic.
Competencies
-Ability to work under pressure and cope with a heavy workload.
-Good organizational and planning skills.
-Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively deal with patients.
-Self-motivated.
-Ability to lead a team and work as a team member.
-Proficiency in standard Agency computer applications.
REMUNERATION’S
MONTHLY BASE SALARY : 999.6 JD + 9% as Supplementary Allowance + 15% as Special Occupational Allowance+ Other fringe benefits include provident fund & health insurance.
DEPENDENCY ALLOWANCE : Payable to spouse and up to seven children
DATE FOR ENTRY ON DUTY : As soon as possible
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Post-graduate degree or diploma in public health, family health or other related discipline.
EQUIVALENCY:
Candidates with an equivalent combination of relevant academic qualifications, professional training and progressive work experience may also be considered, should less than two qualified candidates are found.
